5.0 out of 5 stars Must buy British tv comedy. Excellent., 15 Feb. 2004

This review is from: Sykes - The First Colour Series [DVD] [1972] (DVD)
Well worth waiting nearly a year after the initial advertised release date - a lot of work has gone into this DVD set of the complete 1972 series, 16 episodes.
Network Video have done an excellent job at restoration and the images are very clean and bright. Half of the episodes have extra material added. In addition there are many outtakes.
See Peter Sellars throw Sykes over the settee! See the man who operates the bird in the clock...
One episode, not seen since 1972, exists only in black and white, but has been lovingly restored.
Classic domestic comedy by a master classic comedian. Highly recommended.

this is 2016 now and this box set was released in 2004? where are the rest? I can go online and purchase hundreds of old tv shows from the states in entirety but here we go again with the same old story either no demand as no one wishes to revisit their past or the Brit tv channels threw it all in the bin or like their Witchfinders of yesteryear set fire to the lot.... disgusting. Good old Blighty
