3.0 out of 5 stars Morality, 5 Mar. 2014
This review is from: Breaking Bad - Season 4 [DVD] (DVD)
I have watched this series brilliant though it is with very mixed emotions. I cannot get out of my head the thousands they have probably hurt or killed with their drugs an aspect which was never mentioned.. Unlike most reviews I do not find Walt or Skyler very attractive characters. They both seemed very manipulative and to my mind totally unlikeable. At least Jesse seemed to have some guilt feelings something these two never showed. A brilliant series but morally very very dubious

This genre is called black comedy, if it wasn't black (dark, morally dubious) it wouldn't be black comedy. If you don't like black comedy it's really best not to watch it, it can't be re-made without the drugs, there wouldn't be a story!
I think you may have missed the fact that Walt was an upstanding schoolteacher until he got cancer and realised there was no way he could ever make enough money to provide for his wife and disabled son without resorting to crime. He didn't do the crime just motivated by profit, he did it to save his family; that is the difference between him and the average "immoral" drug dealer.
