This review is from: Bramwell - Series 1-4 Complete [DVD] (DVD)
The sheer hours of viewing available in this box set was exciting in itself! I struggled at first, put it away for a few months, then went back for more and am glad I did.
Dr Bramwell is brilliant and annoying, liberal-minded yet alarmingly naive, independent, yet childishly stubborn and headstrong. The middle portion of the set is wonderful, with thoughtful story-lines that challenge prevailing attitudes without being patronising. However, series three starts to go downhill toward the end, and series four is frankly ridiculous. They could obviously only get three of the original actors to return for series four, so people disappear without explanation. Overall, I'm happy to have it as part of my (now extensive) period drama collection, but am unlikely to return to it over and over.

I agree and when Eleanor was getting wed a ruddy big plane passed in the distance, jumbo wasn't up and running then!

I think that was the Jumbo flying in to wisk David Calder away!,not the same without him in it and that last series 4 was really bad.
