These short stories are well-written and engaging, spanning varying social and cultural issues. The first concerns a girl escaping from potential trafficking. The second adopts the perspective of a teenager training for the Paralympics. In both, the author uses voice credibly; the characters felt relate-able and genuine. The latter is particularly impressive for its shifting focus and the way it presents a rounded view of the character and her concerns. The other two stories were less to my taste, but both used imagery strongly and would interest different readers.
