hmmmm......not bad but not great!!!,
This review is from: In The Zone (Audio CD)
Britney does well for the amount of talent she has as an artist. She does not have the best vocals or song writing ability, which is her main downfall. What comes through in the album is hard work, and good production.
The album will produce hit singles, and some amazingly sexy videos. Me against the music was a nice start, and toxic is probably the best song on the CD. She has a wide range of sounds to pick her next single from, ranging from the reggae inspired 'the hook up' to the futurist sounding 'breathe on me'.
Britney tries very hard on this album to indicate that she is a more mature sexy woman, and to an extent she manages it. Although there is the problem of lacking life experience, which comes through in the form of lack of real passion which would contribute towards truely memoriable songs. In comparsion when you hear songs of real heart break, lost family members, true happiness..etc, you hear the emotion come through the artist's vocals and unfortunately Britney just hasn't confronted those feelings yet.
As a dance CD it is good, there is plenty of booty shaking tracks. Therefore if you are Britney fan you will probably love the album, and probably dont need to read this review. For non Britney fans this is worth a listen, it is an improvement on previous work and a start to maturity towards becoming a really artist.
