I loved Wool and would highly recommend it - so I purchased this book a little while later.
The book's main character is teenager Daniel who is a aware he is not the coolest kid in school and lives with Mum, Step dad, older brother and younger sister.
The story revolves around - you've guessed it - a hurricane which blows through the neighbourhood. As after any catastrophic event people pull together and cement alliances with their neighbours etc due to a common shared event. And that is it really.
The family work together to repair the house and go some way to repairing relationships with Daniel's absent father who shows up to help. They become friends with their neighbours and maybe learn a little about themselves.
Daniel is an endearing character, the descriptions of the hurricane are good, but I felt let down as nothing really happens.
However I did finish it and I enjoy this style of writing - just felt the plot meandered and ended up nowhere.
