This review is from: A Parent's Guide to Preventing Homosexuality (Kindle Edition)
As a psychology student and a gay guy, I must say I find this book's very existence in this day and age to be repulsive. Homosexuality was declassified as a mental illness in the early 70s... that was four decades ago. These doctors, who should be experts in their chosen field, are either unaware of this (in which case their doctorates should be revoked), or have simply chosen to ignore it, obviously believing that their views are superior to that of all other established research. All research literature that I've ever read has shown that homosexuality is an innate factor and that attempts to remove this factor normally end in failure or are just plain harmful. There have been countless reports of of "ex-gay" men and women who have recanted their claims of newfound heterosexuality because they knew they were lying to themselves. This book's presence on Amazon is offensive and will most likely cause harm to innocent gay children who will then grow into unhappy, repressed gay adults because of the prejudiced, narrow-minded, homophobic views of this vile book. I expect there will be the odd review writing nut-job, taking the time to martyr themselves, trying to show themselves as persecuted victims: this is repulsive. Gays are a genuinely persecuted people, and this book will do us even more harm. It should not be here.
