Going back for a refund,
This review is from: Morphy Richards Accents 48705 Sear and Stew Slow Cooker 6.5 Litres - Brushed (Kitchen & Home)
I loved the idea of this slow cooker; being able to use the pot on the hob was a big attraction. It feels very light, in contrast to the ones with a stoneware pot. However, on my ceramic hob the pot slides about and you have to hold it with one hand when you stir the contents. It's too big for any of the heating areas. The handles get very hot and you need to use oven gloves.
I've cooked three meals, a bolognese sauce, a stew and a risotto. The risotto wasn't very nice, the other meals were fine. There isn't an automatic setting, unlike my smaller slow cooker, so you have to select high, medium or low (an automatic setting starts off on high then reduces to low). The whole thing gets very hot when cooking and I put a heat-resistant mat under it to protect the worktop.
Unfortunately the non-stick finish is already scratched and wearing off the bottom of the pot; it has been washed carefully by hand each time after use and only wooden utensils have been used. Perhaps the rice did it!
It's going back for a refund.
