3.0 out of 5 stars It's a dumbed down version of Borderlands 1, 4 Nov. 2012

This review is from: Borderlands 2 (PC DVD) (DVD-ROM)
This game isn't as good as the original Borderlands, and they have even removed medical kits. However, Insta-health kits are still there though.

There is a brand new variety of guns, but I feel that the gameplay still isn't as good as the original Borderlands. I expected this game to be very good, but it can be very annoying at times. This especially applies to the game when the monsters seem to die just before you do, which therefore leaves you with no monsters to kill in order to get a 'second wind'.

All guns are far more limited in their characteristics.
For example Thumper SMG or Combat Rifles from Hyperion could replace many Sniper Rifles, while S&S Sniper Rifles could double as Combat Rifle.
Useful Gun variety in BL2 feels to be roughly 50% of BL1.

BL2 overuses good punch lines. When Zed explains continuously how he doesn't have a med. degree or Claptrap with his annoying songs. Those become really annoying after a few hours. Tiny Tina saved most of the weird humor I so enjoyed in BL1, without her it'd feel rather dull (not to say dumbed down).

It still has enough guns and humor left also the new classes are fun, but overall it leaves me feeling like something is missing.

I also feel that in Borderlands 2, there isn't as much in the way of exploration.. I don't quite know how to explain what I mean. It's like... in borderlands one you could run about and enemies would be almost everywhere... but there seems to be a lot more empty space in Borderlands 2.
