If you buy this machine then you are going into a relationship with tassimo as the only discs that work in this machine are T-Discs. I was very excited to get my Tassimo but the excitement faded when I bought my first pack of coffee "Carte Noire Caffe Macchiato" first of all you get 8 creamer discs and 8 coffee discs. You need to use 1 creamer and 1 coffee disc to make one unit so you can only make 8 "cups" of coffee for around £4. Doesn't seem too bad when you think how much Starbucks or Costa costs, but you don't get a lot of coffee for your disc - in real world you need 2 coffee discs and 2 creamer discs to make a real sized mug (that's right, realistically you only get 4 proper coffees from 16 t-discs which is ridiculous). The biggest problem with this machine is that it is a profit deal, they sell you the machine cheap and then make up for it selling you coffee. I'd say if you are a real coffee fan then go with a bean-to-cup machine, this is just too much of a cost to use on day-to-day basis. I drink around 4 - 5 "proper" coffees a day and this is just too expensive. But if you have a one cuppa a day or want to treat the kids to some delicious milka hot chocolate then this machine is for you.

Thanks, that was my conclusion but i haven't had to buy one. Bit like a computer printer for £40 where replacement ink is £30 a cartridge!

You don't need to use 2 creamers & 2 coffee discs. You can use the option of topping it up before the cycle completes. I find you still get coffee out while topping up and it's not just water, and also that some of these coffees are quite strong, it does help to get the perfect strength & size coffee with the top up feature.

You are obviously not using the machine properly .
Read the comment from Koolman as he is 100% right .Maybe if you could read instructions then you would get more from your Tassimo Machine .

I am fully aware of this feature but for me that's not a solution, you just lose the taste. That's like saying make a pint of coffee from one spoon of coffee and what about hot chocolate? It just becomes tasteless if you add more water. Thanks for absolutely nothing.

Mrs. P. A. Porter says:
To be honest I wish Tassimo wouldn`t provide the packs containing both coffee disks AND Creamer. You can get a far better taste and perfectly good results using REAL milk - heat it for 30 or forty seconds in the microwave if you want it hot and add the coffee from the machine to it. You have the option of adding sugar or sweeteners, too (essential for diabetics). I`d far rather they had the normal 16 discs of coffee in all the coffee packs so you could just buy the creamer discs seperately if you really want them. You can soon whip up a froth with ordinary semi skimmed milk, using one of those tiny battery powered whisks if you want a cappuccino. We have regular visits from family member who particularly enjoy it done this way - it`s more economical, too. (Apart from being the family coffee-house!).
A totally unrelated tip - if, like me, you can never find the manual that comes with it, download it from the Tassimo Store site and save it to your computer or an external drive. I can never remember how much water to use when descaling otherwise!
