I worked for Clarks in one of their satellite factories for 13 years, and I was given this book for my birthday. If it is an in-depth history of the family and the central business you are after, then this is for you. If, like me, you would like to see factory- floor photographs and be reminded of the manufacturing side of the company, then you will be disappointed. The effect that Clarks had on the economy and social life of a number of West-Country communities is largely ignored. Of course, this is my personal view, but I feel that there was the potential for a much more interesting book.
