Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
It was interesting to put this new kitchen gadget to the test, in view of Tefal's claims. The grill offers a choice of six automatic programmes, together with a manual setting and a frozen food setting. The automatic programmes are for burgers, poultry, bacon, sausage, red meat and fish. The grill heats up very quickly. You put the steak into the grill - I found that three piece of rib-eye fitted into the grill at one time. The grill measures the thickness of the steak and the cooking dial changes colour as the steak cooks. It bleeps as the steak reaches the stages of rare, medium or well done. I have to say that the steak I cooked was absolutely spot on and I thought the performance of the Optigrill to be extremely impressive, taking all the guesswork out of cooking steak. Unlike many similar grills, it is also very easy to wash as the plates are removable. The drip tray slots into the machine and is also easily removed to wash it. I would have been happy to give this five stars, except for two things. Firstly it is quite chunky and does take up a lot of cupboard space and secondly it is rather expensive and would probably only be justified if you eat a lot of grilled foodstuffs.
