A good primer for those new to type,

I liked this a lot. For the tyro designer who wants to find out more about the subject, this is pretty good. It's an easy read, light on the eye (unlike some of the more hefty, all inclusive typeography books; which try and cover as much as possible and require the stamima of the truly devoted to plough through)and covers a lot of ground in simple terms. It has a bibliography for those who then want to go deeper into the subject. It's a very good introduction to the subject and for the non professional designer (and even a few pro's I suspect) may be the only type book they'll need unless. But if you're working with 'hardcore' typeography every day you'll need to learn more. But then you'd know the all stuff in this book anyway - wouldn't you. Buy this if you know little or nothing about type and want to start learning.
