While the technical special effects looked a little dated by today's standards, the beautiful scenery more than compensated for this. I got the impression that each scene was filmed 'live' that is to say in one take and included any minor 'glitches' but this only added to the realism of the story, which was very much as I remembered it, though time being what it is in terms of dulling the memory, I had forgotten the detail of the ending. The catchy theme music was exactly as I remembered it from all those years ago, testament indeed to the composer! All in all I was well pleased with the opportunity to re-visit this series. John Abineri's performance was well worthy of his award nomination. For any of those who are not old enough to remember this series the first time round, I would recommend them to invest in it and compare it with other, later versions of the story.
