If you can get over the fact that this album is best for disintegrating your nervous system and you willing to let that happen- it is worth the money.
Meshuggah never was about pleasure, rather to open a window into some unknown alien dimension which is best described in polyrhythmic machine-music - they were among the first to do that and they still do it well.
However while i was straight into their previous work Obzen, this one took some time.
The first half lacks a bit those intricate musical hooks which makes Meshuggah an eye opener, and uses straigthforward brutality instead, but the second half lives up to my expectations with mind bending tracks like Marrow, Swarm, Demiurge or the slowly groovin Break Those Bones Whose Sinews Gave It Motion.
The rest of the tracks still sound interesting enough to not to make this a bad balance - to be honest, there are tracks on their previous albums as well i keep skipping...
Overally this is another solid effort-they did not reinvent themselves, but delivered the goods!
