First things first, in my opinion this is a great looking GPS watch compared to some of the other brands and older versions from Garmin. It has an up to date fresh look with a really nice colour screen and simple to use buttons and interface. You can easily get going without reading any instructions it's that easy, you just have to spend a bit of time getting used to the menus.
Once you switch it on it guides you through the set up so you get your weight, preferred units etc sorted. On first use it only took about 2 minutes to get a satellite fix, but on subsequent runs it took less than a minute. I find that as long as you stay still, you'll get a satellite fix much quicker, so don't try and set off running first before you get a fix.
The screen is really good and clear, although the actual LCD screen is only about the same size as a pound coin as it has quite a large border around the whole watch. On a run you get 2 screens which can be customised to your preference each with 3 data fields which is ample for what I need and you can easily scroll between screens or set it to auto scroll if you wish. Distance, timer and average pace are pre set to the first screen which I like and left set as that.
Accuracy is really impressive as with all other Garmin devices I've used. I've even used it on a cycle as a back up and it performed perfectly.
Comfort wise it really excels. The watch is so light you don't really notice it. The strap is really well designed too as it is completely covered in holes which stops too much sweat building up under it when on a run which is a good design.
It even has Bluetooth connectivity so you can pair it with your smartphone via the Garmin Connect Mobile app (which I've not used yet as I don't tend to take my phone with me on a run) which allows you to view your run straight away in case you are not going to be near a PC to upload it. It also has an accelerometer which means that you can use it to pretty accurately record how far you run on a treadmill, or it will still record distance that you run in a tunnel or in areas where satellite reception is interrupted which is really good.
Overall, it has all the functions that I need and more really - it has a lot to offer. Great looks, good design, accurate performance and easy to use. I'm impressed and totally satisfied. You can even add a heart rate monitor in the future if you wish so it's quite future proof if your running moves up a gear.
