Not bad but...,
This review is from: Flowers In The Dirt (Audio CD)
Som people have called this Paul's best album of the 80's. I really disagree. This is, in my opinion, his worst album from the 80's (with the possible exception of GIVE MY REGARDS TO BROAD STREET which is hard to compare to the others.) Sure, PIPES OF PEACE and PRESS TO PLAY were uneven but still had good songs enough. McCARTNEY II could hardly be taken seriously by anyone but it was still a pretty fun record in its own way.
This is just a bit plain, most of the songs don't do anything for me. The start of the modern-McCartney era where his pop albums are professionally made but never get better than just above average. TUG OF WAR is his best album from the 80's. Will we ever see a pop masterpiece from sir Paul again?
