The main reason I came across this album, was due to design project I was doing at coll, and there cover suited the topic for my research. Having watched the videos for their singles, I was fairly impressed, after listening to "Thru the Glass" and "Into the Fire". However it was "Do No Wrong", which really captured my imagination, a powerful emotive song, which almost bought a tear to my eye. Thirteen Senses have been compared to Keane a lot, mainly because of the similar style of music and the fact a lot of the songs are piano led. However in all other aspects they are very much different, where as Keane go for pop-punch impact, with little depth, Thirteen Senses are subtle. This mite make them dull to a lot of people, but they are far from it, the first 4 songs on "Invitation" have a subtle beauty, "Hopes and Fears" could only dream of. Thats the good part, "Do No Wrong" is what made me order the album, but it was a very dissappointing Album, past the fourth track, the ideas seem to have dried up, as it lumber and drags it self to the end of the Album. If you don't fall asleep by this time, you may just catch a glimpse of the thoughtful and beautiful nature of some the theses songs. The fact is, as a band they do not seem to have enough ideas, to fill 12 songs. The last 8 songs, are not even remotely listenable or tuneful, to keep you interested. The only reason to buy this album is for the three brilliant singles, so you don't have to shed out individually for them, it only, just gets three stars thanks mainly to those singles. Thirteens Senses new Album, is out soon, lets hope its a better one...
