The Bitter End - a good start1,
This review is from: The Bitter End [CD 1] (Audio CD)
When I first heard this, I thought that the Placebo of old is back. Brian is back writing about what affects us all the most: relationships, broken or failing. Combining this with an infectious guitar riff, and the occasional break, it is classic Placebo!
I'm sure if you are reading this, you've heard it already, but probably not the other tracks. If you're a Placebo fan, you'll love track 2 as well, the cheesy Bonnie M classic, Daddy Cool. I don't know whether they've done it with there tongue firmly in-cheek, but I'm always highly conscious of the volume level when I'm listening to it on my walkman on the tube. If it's too loud, someone may recognise the song and think I was listening to Bonnie M! That said, it's another great cover with the Placebo effect.
The third track is Teenage Angst, with a twist, that being a Piano version. I first heard this live when Placbo last played at Brixton Academy on their Black Market Music Tour. It was powerful yet beautiful live, and that is conveyed on this recording as well.
