Customer Review

on 2 January 2012
As a midwife, I'm always being bought books about midwives and babies. I've read so many that they've all started to merge together! But Sheena Byrom's Catching Babies will always stand out for me. It's a wonderfully inspiring story of family, midwifery and perseverance, and will be enjoyable even for those who are not midwives. It is written beautifully, and reminded me of Jennifer Worth's style, I felt like I was reading someone's personal diary. Sheena's story's are inspiring, happy, sad, emotional, and just plain engrossing, I couldn't put the book down until I'd finished it. The book shows just how much one woman, one midwife can achieve in a relatively short period of time, and should be inspiring to all those midwives who hope to change maternity services for the better, and to improve things for women, babies, and midwives. Catching Babies: A Midwife's Tale
