This is what all those films claiming to be 'fun for all the family' should keep in mind when using that phrase. The story is a simple fairy tale of evil princes and beautiful princesses (but wait it gets better) and dashing heroes doing good and saving the day. Kids will lap it up. Whats here for the adults is a wicked sense of humour which subverts our preconceptions of films of this ilk and the greatest sword fight in the history of movies ever, ever, ever (even recent Star Wars movies have tried to emulate this). Some of the one liners and catchphrases will stick with you for ages and it almost becomes like a secret code amongst those who have seen it (I myself have started a cult that meets at midnight wearing black masks and screams 'boooo'). This really is fun long after daddy takes the T-Bird away, it has the charm of an Errol Flynn matinee and the humour of a very funny thing. If you have kids you'll love them to see it and if you don't have kids this will be one of the first movies you'll want to show them when you have them. Actually, scratch all that, see this movie.
