Classic album Newley re-issued,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Love Is A Now And Then Thing (Audio CD)
Although the album has appeared as part of a Vocalion issue a few years ago, it is nice to have the album on its own as it was first issued on the Decca label.
This is a young Anthony Newley trying out his vocal without the big vibratto that later stylized his performances. A classic album worth the price with some tracks worthy of Sinatra!
Anthony Newley was much more than a singer as this album will prove.
Purchase, pour a fifth of scotch and enjoy!

Fully agree with you. Do you know if there are any plans for "In My Solitude" on its own. The Vocalion twofer blew it by releasing the mono version which can't contain the size of Newley's talent. He demands stereo!

Paul Goodhead says:
I'm not aware of a single issue release of In My Solitude. The Vocalion twofer released the mono version purely because the master stereo tapes were damaged and were inferior in that state to the mono version. Sadly I think those of us with a stereo LP copy is the best we can hope for.... at least for now.
