This is a well written historical drama set in the times of Chaucer. It's got it all: a plot that twists and turns; great characters; love; betrayal; treason; a great read. Not quite Wolf Hall but not far off it and certainly better than Ken Follet and Brown's da Vinci code. Furthermore, although written by an American, you wouldn't know it. I'd happily re read this whilst waiting for his next novel. Strongly recommend.
