If you can't afford to go to Venice you can buy this book and look at the pictures. Some marketing expert probably also had the cleaver idea of gilding the edges of the book. With that kind of focus it is already a no brainer. The author does not have any specific knowledge about Venetian food. She presents a bunch of recipes. Why on earth would you buy a cookbook from somebody who is not an expert on the subject. No stay away if you're interested in cooking. If you desperately want to dream about Venice, by all means give this book a try. But I'd rather recommend a budget airline ticket.
