This is an ideal tool if used as intended by which I mean as a hammer tacker.
When the package arrived it came with a good supply of appropriately strong staples that would suit heavy duty upholstery (horse hair upholstery repair etc.), or light construction in situations such as tacking MDF sheeting to frmeworks - exactly what I got it for. At first I sought to position the tacker over the sheet material and sort of gently hit it against the material; needless to say nothing happened apart from a half discharged staple lodging in the mechanism. Once dislodged I decided to try it on scrap material before approaching the intended use again. I took a reasonable swing at the face of the material in just the same way as I would aim at a nail with a hammer and hey presto the staple embedded itself in the wood at some depth - flush! It told e one thing namely that I would need more practice because now of course the issue was accuracy; I could not afford to miss the mark with the device as it would unnerringly deliver a staple but the issue would be my aim. Thankfully I can report great success after one or two issues with said aiming on my part.
A very useful tool which rewards a bit of effort in practising before using for anything important. carpet aying is my next task. Oh and by the way it doubles as a stress reliever but that is another story.
