Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: PIONEER HDJ500 BLACK DJ headphones (Electronics)
Some things I'd have liked to have known:
What they sound like - finding a pair to try might prove difficult, but I trusted a renowned brand and I'm not disappointed. They sound great, with little distortion to speak of until you really amp up the power. Bass is emphasised and very punchy, those 40 mm drivers are made use of. At 105 db max output, they arn't short on volume either.
They come with 2 cords one coiled, one straight. Unlike some examples I've experienced the straight cable was more than long enough to sit in my pocket while listening. Both these cables are detachable from headphones via a locking 2.5 mm jack.
Build quality - they are predominantly plastic; so not particularly heavy but sacrifice some righty. That being said, they feel pretty sturdy and an upgrade to my last pair (WeSC Bongo cans). The pads are memory foam encased in leather and are extremely comfortable. These headphones do not fold up and that may be their only drawback in my eyes.
How they stack up against similarly priced examples i couldn't say - 1 pair is enough for me. That being said, I read reviews of these before i bought them from here and the words good value were used regularly (even considering the brand name and associated price hike) I have yet to compare the Beats solo HD efforts against my own significantly cheaper purchase, but I'll post back here about the results.
