Harris criticises religious people for being uncritical but uncritically endorses reincarnation, psychic powers and Buddhist nonsense about meditation. And somehow he forgets or never knew of Buddhist crimes like their support for the campaign of terror, murder and conquest in the East before and during World War Two. If you want a good atheist book read Christopher Hitchens's book "God is not Great" and the dialogue Euphythro written by Plato which logically guts theism and leaves it hanging out to dry. He is basically right about some things like Israelis being more in the right than not, the American invasion of Iraq being well-intentioned and he rightly sees the current state of Islam as a problem. Unfortunately being right about a few things isn't enough, you actually have to have mastered at least some of the rudiments of critical argument and Sam Harris hasn't done this and it shows. I mean really, how much respect can you have for a man who can't spot that one of his favoured beliefs, reincarnation, implies that people with the memories and skills of adults would voluntarily crawl around on the floor crapping into a nappy when they were reincarnated. This book is a complete waste of paper - avoid it.
