It helps the point that Matthew Crawford is making that he's a motorcycle repairer, not a woodworker or "artisan baker" or anything like that. This book isn't an elegy on the virtues of craft work and a simpler life, it's a sensible and thoughtful discussion of what makes work worthwhile. There's not too much philosophical or sociological jargon so it's easy to read. Worth reading.
