This story of a fictional crew of a Martin B-26 Marauder during WW2 in Europe, is well interspersed with details of the development of the plane and the type of missions it was used for during the war. As a `techno junkie' I would have welcomed even more detail about the plane and its' mission use, but the story is a fascinating read none the less. The book seemed to come to an end far too soon for me, as I became engrossed in it and could not put it down.
The book is obviously written very much from an American perspective of the air war in Europe and life in Britain during the war, so it can appear a bit odd to a UK audience, but overall a thoroughly entertaining read. It also illustrates how the plane went from a 'reviled monster', killing inexperienced crews, through to a potent tactical bomber.
Some reviewers have commented upon the errors, typo's etc in the text, and whilst there were a few, it did not spoil my enjoyment of this well-researched story. This is a bargain read at the moment on the Kindle or Kindle App at under £1, get it before it goes up in price!!
