Firstly, let me state that my 14 year daughter took on the role of reading this book and I am left with the task of editing her personal overview. S really loves Meg Cabot and has already read many of her books. Apparently, this is in 'the top 3' and was finished very quickly such was the entertainment value. S really identified with the main character Emmerson and her boyish interests. The superficiality of the world of fashion and the media's obsession with celebrity is personified in the characters, Emmerson's sister Frida and the atrociously shallow model, Nikki Howard. The scientific transmogrification of our heroine was deemed close to naffness but not enough to stop the reader in their tracks completely. Indeed, when it all started to fall into place, the horror of what had unfolded was seen as quite disturbing. A sequel is eagerly awaited.
