I loved this book. There was something very English and understated about Rosie's situation, which must have been frightening and frustrating. Through circumstances she was in the wrong place at the wrong time, but with a strength go character, luck and intelligence, managed to escape a dreadful situation. I hadn't been aware of English citizens being imprisoned in the war before and their conditions were appalling. I had to laugh when she implied with English understatement, that it was relatively easy to adapt to the conditions because she'd been to a boarding school! I highly recommend this book.
