This is a lot of fun to read but it is difficult to see how these projects will generalize to a theory of cognition that goes beyond what these individual programmes do for their particular areas of application. I mean, he knows that this is the big problem. I suppose the idea is to attack a range of problems with approaches that are similar in spirit, and then a sort of commonality will emerge from which a more general theory/technology/whatever can be extracted. But there is little evidence here to suggest that it's going to work. So in the end, I don't believe this is going anywhere.
