We often tend to think of classics as being of the 30s and 40s era. Please don't be fooled into thinking that because this movie is from 72 it doesn't have the clout of the other Hitchcocks. This is an absolute gem. Gripping, suspenceful, with every scene detailed carefully. And TERRIFYING. Typical Hitchcock for those who love his movies and I do. For those who love twists it's also a cracker. Basic plot, angry discontented man gets framed by his so called mate who also happens to be a serial killer. The least graphic scene is also the most disturbing. The camera slowly moving away from a doorway and you know there is a murder being commited inside! One of my favourite Hitchcocks and I have seen all of them. Sorry I don't write like a journalist or critic. Shame I haven't been as intrigued and on the edge of my seat as much with some of the movies of today.
