1.0 out of 5 stars I see you want to print greyscale, buy magenta and cyan ink then try again., 3 May 2014

This review is from: Epson Expression HOME XP 215 Colour Multifunctional Printer (Personal Computers)
The XP-215 is an unashamed ripoff merchant employed by Epson. Only £50, I thought. Pretty reasonable, I thought. Even comes with one of each of the four different ink cartridges the printer uses. Turns out that even if you were to sacrifice your entire stock of Epson brand ink you still wouldn't have enough squirt to print off a five-star review. But that doesn't matter, you won't get that far, once the magenta has been spent, the XP-215 is going to take paid leave until you've provided a fresh micro-package of magenta. In the meantime, to stay busy from all that printing it's not doing, the XP-215 will regularly spam your screen with shameless 'BUY EPSON INK' plugs which don't really provide an 'opt out' option.

No. Not impressed. Far too high maintenance for this relationship to work. Poor show Epson.

Absolutely true, i am having a horrible time with mine. I have a masters degree but it seems you need a phd to be able to figure out how to change the cartridges, especially when you cant find the original documentation. Wifi has really got messed up cannot connect to printer, tried manual connection via IP (i am an IT professional) and still nothing, printer diagnostics say all is well when clearly not and IP addresses all match up. Epson have been no help at all. Stay well away from this printer. Mine is going straight in the bin after i managed to succesfully print about 50 pages, (that is about a pound per page, bargain).

Absolutely correct a load of crap. Ink lasts about a week of work, cant refill, because of chip, You can buy individual inks but believe me you will need to. Not a cheap printer to run, mine's in the bin after this ink run. Will not go down Epson route again!
Will go back to my old printer HP 870 cxi at least can refill that!
