5.0 out of 5 stars Better than my course books!, 17 May 2011
This review is from: Street Welsh - Phrasebook: The Welsh Phrasebook (Paperback)
I am Learning Welsh as part of my degree (In Wales, of course)and have all the notes, course books and syllabus. I brought this book as I wanted something 'simple' and portable to carry around.

What I found was that this book has more practically helpful hints and tips on how to structure Welsh sentences and phrases than my other material. I struggle slightly with the "dont worry, you'll get it in time" approach to learning. This book explains the simple things to you that make learning Welsh that little bit easier.

A great little book that is genuinely useful and will help you improve your Welsh as well as providing a phrase book and mini dictionary that you can easily carry.

Small, cheap and effective. A very good buy.

*As an addition to this review now that I have studied Welsh to more advanced level. I would like to point out that this book has a slight tendency towards 'South Walian'. Due to the 'basic' nature of this book at this level it shouldn't cause too much of a problem though.*

An appreciated review. Having spoken Welsh when a schoolboy in Cardiff (before migrating to Australia), and having now once again assumed residency in the UK and wishing to return to the language in my older years, the review comments were apposite. I have some books and DVD's; hopefully, this additional book will encourage me to review the language and, without once again becoming anywhere near fluent, at least assist me with Welsh on my visits to Wales. "Strine" should not interfere with Welsh too much! Ffarwelio.

Hi, is this book for north Welsh or south Welsh? I'm trying to learn Welsh, not doing that well because my husband gets cross because I'm learning south Welsh, he is from Anglesey.
