What an amazing book, superbly written, compelling, exciting, terribly sad in places, amusing in others, and I couldn't wait to turn the page and find out what happened next. I loved it, couldn't put it down. Should be in the study section and every other section as well. An important read, it clearly demonstrates what happens to children who are abused when they grow up, and how it is impossible to recognise and move out of abuse once born into it. I felt the vulnerability and powerlessness of the little girl who had no-one to turn too, and it was as if the author was speaking directly to me. I was willing her to leave the abusive situations she inevitably found herself in as an adult and I wanted to go and help her, hug her, tell her it was going to be alright. What a brave woman to write with such honesty and hearfelt detail. I recommend this book wholeheartedly.
