Although the author gets a little carried away with his metaphors, the quality of this publication is exemplary. Very well written and exceptionally well researched, this is an outstanding account of life at the sharp end for the British Tommy and the highest CO. It sets the record straight on Rommel, Monty, Auchinleck, O'Conner etc.
It captures the to-and-fro nature of the desert war very well and is simply a joy to plough your way through. Gripping and entertaining this is a must buy.
