In my mind, the four films included in this precious collector's set represent the very best of all Agatha Christie's film or tv adaptations ever made. I think I've seen them all ; the ones with David Suchet, Joan Hickson, and probably everything that has been produced for the small or big sceen from the Queen of Crime's timeless materpieces.
The main reason these four films in particular are so outstanding is because of their brilliant producers ; John Bradbourne & Richard Goodwin, who simply wouldn't settle for anything but the very best in every single aspect of production. They also had the shiploads of cash necessary to make their dreams (and ours) come true. These films deservedly received 2 Oscars (Anthony Powell for his costume designs for Death on the Nile, and Ingrid Bergman for her performance in Murder on the Orient Express).
Buy this box set and compare it with any other production of the same story, and you'll soon see what I mean.
The quality of the DVDs is excellent. The original aspect ratios have been respected.
