I cannot believe that this film has hardly ever been on television, at least I have never seen it on. A friend gave me a VHS copy of this many years ago and I haven't seen it since which is almost 20 years. People keep on about it being Hitchcockian in nature which is also mentioned in the synopsis, I like to think it is immense in it's originality. The acting is superb not just the main players but also the supporting cast, Richard Wattis pops up and shows what a versatile actor he was and didn't just play bumbling fools in sitcoms.

I don't know if this film has been restored but the quality for a 57 year old film is superb. Overall a very enjoyable movie with creeping malevolence throughout which is just kept under the surface. Reminds me a bit of an earlier version of Patrick McGoohans the Prisoner.
