Customer Review

on 25 January 2009
This guy in my view is the best blues player ever, I say that with a certain reservation as he's not a straight blues player but more a fusion player as he has the capacity and talent to call in various styles of rock, jazz and blues into a unique sound which would appeal to many. If you're not sure about blues, this will make you switch! Unlike many of the other modern blues players, he's not a clone who can recreate the sounds of players before but a brilliant melting pot of influences derived from Hendrix, SRV, Collins, King, etc and turned them into a brilliant style of his own. Blues is about "feel" and he has it in bucketfulls! You will be amazed at how a young white boy from South UK can have the burning feel of an old master who came from deep south in US and suffered much hardship.. Seen Matt live many times and if you get the chance to see him, don't miss it, he cooks on the scale of Hendrix!
