This CD is a dancefloor filler. Straight up! Included here are gems from the best of current retro artists, that's to say those singers and musicians presenting material conspicuously styled on the old R&B, soul and rock'n'roll antecedents of the 50s and 60s but who put a relaxed unashamededly modern spin on the sound.
Also on the setlist are a number of vintage obscurities absolutely in keeping with the time machine theme, including Rich Clifford and the Saddows, whose name sounds kind of familiar, but not quite. The track is a belter. This album's a joy for any listener who's loved Amy Winehouse or Caro Emerald or any of these modern new-but-sounds-old people. Beware though: you might laugh, you might swoon, but you will definitely dance.
