This is an odd bag of nuts. Some of the greatest pop songs in the last 20 years covered by Australian and New Zealand female artists. Most of it works well, serving to re-inforce the quality of the songwriting. But some of it doesn't quite hit home. Musically and vocally sparse renditions of Don't Dream It's Over and Four Seasons In One Day take a while to win you over (if they ever do). I bought this following its Australian release and I've not stopped listening to it yet - and songs like Distan Sun (with its criminal missing line from someone who must have struggled with their religious conscience and lost), Fall At Your Feet, Pineapple Head and Won't Give In will probably make you get the originals if you haven't already. Strong stuff.
