I have to say I completely agree with the other reviewer below - this is an excellent, easy to read work on the importance of the Cross and its centrality to the Christian faith. I have not yet summoned up the stamina to tackle John Stott's magnum opus The Cross of Christ, but this really encouraged me to do so - it has acted as a delightful taster of Stott's more detailed work. However that said, this book itself is very much worth reading and really focuses one's mind on the full significance of Jesus' sacrificial death and what it means for us. I found it both challenging and encouraging and above all pleasantly helpful to read. Highly recommended.
