'The Hodgeheg' reviwed by Year 3, Byron Primary,
This review is from: The Hodgeheg (A young Puffin story book) (Paperback)
Have you ever wondered how Hedgehogs get accross the road?
Max, the main character of your story, is an intelligent, brave and inquisitive little Hedgehog.
At the beginning of the story something terrible happens, Max's Aunty Betty gets run over whilst trying to cross the road. This encourages Max to find a safe place for Hedgehogs to cross the road. He starts to wonder- how do humans cross the road safely? With this question in his mind Max sets off into the wide world to find the answer. Throughout the story Max gets himself into many situations that sometimes leave him fighting for his life.
We think that the book is very exciting because you never know what is going to happen next and what sort of scrape Max is going to get himself into.
We recommend this story to children aged 6-9 because of the wonderful and funny main character called Max.
We think this book is very good but we prefer the adventures of Roald Dahl's book 'James and the Giant Peach'.
