I was eagerly anticipating this book having read the reviews. I had read one review where the reader mentioned that it wasn't the type of book that they would normally read but the reader was glad that they had done so as the language was so effocative. From the cover and the blurb I had to agree it wasn't my sort of thing but I do have an ecclectic taste in books and a well written book is a well written book whatever the genre. So I started reading it and I was impressed by the words the author uses to conjure up this wild, barren snow covered landscape, I could easily visualise it in my mind. However I found the plot and the pace to be incredibly slow and boring. I had no interest to find out where the snow child came from or how she survived alone in the wilderness which is sad. I usually have to finish a book, no matter how long it takes me but with this one I couldn't, I felt as if it would be a waste of my time. Apologies to all those who evidently liked it but this is just my opinion. :)
