This album has it's good points as well as it's bad. Firstly, one of the major cirticisms of this album is that the songs tend to sound kind of similar to each other at first. However, listen after a couple of spins and you soon realise that each song has it's moments of musical genius. Standout tracks are "Let Go", "Dead Inside" and "SP lit" which all are classic examples of what can be achieved in the nu-metal genre. Also, many comparisons have been made between Chimaira and Slipknot but rest assured that, while they both fall into the same genre, at the same time they are both unique in their own special ways. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is because, as good as this album is, it's not as mind blowing as some would have liked and I'm one of those people. To sum up, I was expecting a little bit more and when I mean little I mean LITTLE but nevertheless "Pass Out Of Existence" has it's moments and Chimaira have built a solid foundation on which they can construct album number 2.
