John Squire is a God,
By A Customer
This review is from: Do It Yourself (Audio CD)
This album is actually better then a lot of people like to make out. Whilst the "Seahorses" are no "Stone Roses" this album still has quite a bit of quality. The best track is obviously "Blinded by the Sun", however the other tracks alright as well. One of the final tracks (I think it might be "Standing on Your Head") is a dead ringer for "Love Spreads", just with more melody and I reckon that is the bets way of describing the "Seahorses". They're the "Stone Roses" in a poppier guise.
(One final point - the lyrics are absolutely ridiculous featuring references to a giant squid and a mega-hyper-chocolate box)

Standing on Your Head was actually written during the Second Coming sessions but they never went anywhere with it. Same with Love is the Law.
