My story is similar. I didn't give it a lot of usage but broke down and I returned it. I must say the company are excellent and they fixed and returned it quickly.
Unfortunately it only worked 3 times after return. Cleaned glasses; contact lens and case and after 2 runs it stopped. Water was getting warmer as well and I started with cold so definitely something not right with it.
I am returning it to the amazon people I bought it from who will give me a credit and I probably won't be JPL again. However JPL the company's customer service is second to none.
