Great weights but useless broken case..,
This review is from: York Fitness Cast Iron Dumbbell Set and Case (Sports)
I recieved my dumbells today and they arrived on time which i was pleased about. The dumbells are very easy to figure out, simple to screw on all the disks and they all fit correctly (ive never used dumbells before). Probally the only dumbells i'll ever buy, 20kg is way to heavy for me really, im a skinny ectomorph who is a newbie to weights but hopefully theyll help me. I agree with a lot of other reviews the handles are very rough and abrasive on the hands, but it seemed to me their like that to provide better grip. Pretty rough on my hands but i dont do a lot of manual labour so my hands need toughening up anyways.
Very very disapointed with the case, it has two catches and one of these has snapped off and the second one is slightly loose. Essentially you cant carry the dumbells around in this case because its broken that badly. To risk carrying them would run the risk of it coming open and i dont want a 2kg disk landing on foot.. lets face that'll break a bone two. The plastic catches are very flimsy and unbelievably easy to break their so thin.
Overall the dumbells themselves are 5 star products, the case on the other hand is completely useless and i suggest to any prospective buyers to bare this in mind.

Quite agree - bought this version as the dumbbells have metal locking collars. The case is crap - not fit for purpose as the catches are too flimsy and one arrived already torn off due to the poor packaging. The dumbbells are great, the carry case is rubbish so expect to put it straight in the bin !
