Half-sized portable Bluetooth keyboard - UK layout,

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Although some early reviewers have referred to theirs having a US layout, this is UK-specific and a large label affixed to the packaging makes this very clear. It also proclaims that it has 105 keys which is sufficient to include a numeric keypad, which it does not actually offer.
The keyboard is physically slim and comparable in size to the keyboards on a 10 to 12-inch netbook or sub-notebook. Most of its keys share a traditional layout although a few of the additonal keys are strangely located but most are dual-function and share a position with one of the F-keys. The keys are themselves about 90% of full size and so should be very comfortable to use although their proximity with each other may offer a few extra typing errors for those with larger fingers.
Key travel is minimal, about 1-2mm in total and the typing feel is good. The casing is metallic, which accounts for its weight and the rear foot incorporates the battery compartment (2 AAAs supplied) - press the release button and extract the drawer - and the Bluetooth mating button located on the opposite edge. There is no Power button as such but there should be no battery drain when the keyboard is not actively in use if the cover is engaged as it is said to power-down the keyboard although there is no obvious contact on either that would clearly perform the function. The cover, which is mostly hard has rubberised grips at the narrower edges to mate with the base, converts into an easel stand for your tablet and it will work with any with the obvious proviso that they are Bluetooth-enabled.
The whole concept is simple and effective and the size is sufficient to fit into most messenger bags or similar. It will probably fit into the larger handbags/shoulder bags preferred by some female users. Price for what it offers, with the dual function cover, is excellent. It should offer to the user far greater typing speed and efficiency than can be obtained if using an on-screen keyboard, regardless of tablet brand used, if for no greater reason than the greater variety of keys immediately available. A Windows key is included, primarily for those using Windows 7/8/RT tablets although it is also Mac and Android compatible. It could, at a pinch be used as a portable keyboard with virtually any Bluetooth-capable laptop or desktop and with some other devices that accept Bluetooth connections. The non-slip rubberised strip at the front underside edge is quite smooth and may not be too effective on some surfaces and the rear foot/battery compartment is hard, smooth, and without any non-slip prevention offerings. Some may choose to use this on their lap.
Although solid and heavy for its size, it is attractive and pleasant to use although it cannot offer quite the same user experience as a full-size keyboard which would not be as portable or provide the same convenience when on the move or away from a regular base.
